Install WordPress From Your cPanel Using Softaculous

WordPress is an open source content management system (CMS) that is available to install using the cPanel Softaculous Apps Installer for free. This article will help you to install WordPress from your cPanel using Softaculous.

Softaculous is a commercial script library that automates the installation of commercial and open source web applications to a website in one click which is also known as “Once Click Installation”. It runs within the cPanel control panel as well as other websites control programs such as Plesk, DirectAdmin, H-Sphere and InterWorx.

Let’s learn how to install WordPress from your cPanel using Softaculous. Login your cPanel and follow these steps:

1) Scroll down to Software/Services and click Softaculous

2) Scroll down to Blogs. Find the WordPress link and click on it

3) This will open a screen with several options displayed. You will see a screen with tabs Install, Overview, Features, and Import. Click on the Install link.

4) Fill out all of the boxes here.

The information you need to fill as follows:

  • Choose Domain: Select the Domain for which you want to install WordPress from the drop-down menu.
  • In Directory: Leave this field blank to install on the domain directly. If you are installing in a subfolder you have to type the folder name here. This will load the blog as follows: example.com/foldername.
  • Admin Username/Password/Email: Enter Admin username, the password you want for the Dashboard Login. The system will place an invalid email in the Email box. You will need to add a valid one.

Install

When you are finished, click Install.

5) Softaculous will check the submitted data and install the files to your server for WordPress.You will see “Installation Successful” Message showing on cPanel screen. Click Return to Overview.

Now Current Installations list will show your WordPress installation. You can see your WordPress installed site now as follow:
